Jeremy Jackson håller ett föredrag på TED talk om hur vi förstör haven inte bara med olja som läcker ut i Mexikanska gulfen. Vilket verkar var större än man först hävdat. Även om man fått in ett rör i ett annat rör så är det inte tätt ännu.
Enligt SvD så finns det en oljeansamling som är 15 kilometer lång, 5 kilometer bred och 100 meter tjock och ligger 700 meter under ytan. Vilket kan göra slut på syret i delar av Gulfen.
