Doomsday Clock flyttar 1 minut närmare midnatt.

Den 10 januari 2012 så flyttade Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists (BAS) den berömda visaren till fem minuter i midnatt. Senaste gången var i januari 2010 då visaren flyttades tillbaka 1 minut. Anledningen att visaren nu flyttas fram igen, är nu enligt BAS, att för två år sedan så verkade världens politiska ledning reda att angripa de globala hoten, men den trenden har inte fortsatt utan även backat. Detta gäller både klimathotet och kärnvapennedrustning. Världssamfundet är nära en punkt utan återvändo när det gäller att förhindra en katastrofal förändring i jordens atmosfär.
