Tellurium 129 tyder på reaktion i Fukushima

Tellurium 129 detekteras tydligen nu från Reaktorn 1 i Fukushima vilket Arnie Gunderson från Fairewinds and Associates tolkar som att reaktorn gått kritisk vid olika tillfällen och eller i olika delar. Detta kan vara anledningen till att man vill fylla med betong.

Tellurium 129 (Te) har en halveringstid på 69 minuter så det borde inte finnas något kvar nu då reaktorn stoppades den 11 mars.

129Sb sönderfaller till 129Te och vidare till 129I och vidare till 129Xe.

    Te-129 bildas också i sitt metastabila exciterade tillstånd med en halveringstid på 33.6 dagar. Det kan förklara förekomsten av Te-129 utan att det krävs återkriticitet.
